Report about the 6th International Dacia Meeting in Alesheim

Report from PX200E (Johannes) about the 6th International Dacia Meeting in Alesheim 2011.

**Hello Dacia Friends,

. . . . . . . . . . A few hours sleep perhaps more, and as I awoke from my dreams, I was a little sad because I had still been dreaming about our super, fantastic and successful weekend (meeting).

Now the dream has gone and I was confronted, once more, with reality. But before I was really wide awake a little fairy whispered in my ear, that another Dacia Meeting would take place. Fairy Tales always begin with
....once upon a time..... Our Dacia-Club Meeting ended with the words. “You – I – we will not forget” and to keep it that way I have written this so that you can read and relive those wonderful moments.

After the arrival of all of the Dacia Friends on Friday. An unforgettable evening took place in the Guest House Conrad. It was a great pleasure to meet old friends and acquaintances once again accompanied with hearty conversation.






During the welcoming, old friendships were renewed and new friends found and with the excellent Schnitzel meal one was fortified for the rest of the evening.





After PX had set up his notebook and beamer the Dacia-Club presentation could begin.








A detailed and fascinating presentation of the forth coming Dacia-Club journey to Romania was shown with wonderful photos and a video film.
This will take place after the 7th International Dacia Meeting next year.
Talks about Dacia and the vehicles as well as private conversation finished off a relaxed and very interesting evening.



We awoke with the expectation of a sunny morning. The ample and delicious breakfast buffet helped us to overlook the heavy clouded sky.








After everybody was fortified for our trip to past times we positioned our vehicles for the start to Weissenburg.







One, two, three, four.... oh it’s like a dream to see so many Dacias together.







We arrived at our first point of call => the Roman Thermal Baths in Weissenburg without any incident. We were awaited from our two guides who were going to bring us nearer to the roman past that was once in Weissenburg.

And believe it or not... there were “Romans” of long gone to marvel at!








After an astounding and very interesting information about the thermals,
One could not leave without a photo together with the “Romans” in front of such an historical setting.







In the “Roman Museum” were many historical finds to discover with the accompanying information.
We drove on to Burgsalach in order to comprehend the enormity of the Roman Limes and to see a small part of such.

What did the Romans experience in their time, how did they live and what did they eat?
These questions were answered and in great detail explained.

We tasted rustically bread with a spread from a traditional roman recipe, very tasty indeed!





Our wellbeing was well cared for, on arriving at the block house we were awaited from the Dacia-Clubs maintenance team with fresh coffee, hot sausages
with bread rolls and diverse beverages







Other adventures were planned: playground for the children, swimming in the Bechthaler lake, a tour in a windmill...but unfortunately the weather was not kind to the Dacia people, so we drove back to the hall. On arriving we were greeted with a “High Tea” scrumptious cake and gateaux, coffee and other drinks.








And as always, it’s very nice to converse with coffee and cake, a fitting ambient.
But what’s a great Dacia Meeting without a barbeque? So grab your plate and let’s go.








And not to forget... apart from steaks and sausages a healthy salad bar where one is served by charming and pretty girls.







It’s gone very quiet.. yes – A delicious barbeque is something special.




. . but now here comes „Holm“. . .





With great talent and terrific music „Holm“turned the evening into an unforgettable experience. A wonderful musician.
But something is missing! Oh yes the Tombola. No, it was not forgotten, a little tension must be.

Have all the Tickets been sold? By this main prize, most definitely.







The main prize, a set of alum. wheels, the second prize, a navigation appliance and the third prize, a petrol voucher.
The motto being, only those who participate can win!






The Dacia-Club Europe e.V. congratulates all the winners.
And now it’s time to dance, let’s hope the tables and benches can stand the strain.......yes they can.




After a very short night, a good breakfast is just what we needed to fortify us for our next adventure: A trip in the Roman Galley on the Lake Brombach.
So off we go, our Galley is waiting.






We just can’t wait to get to the lake.





The drum beats the tact.. row – row – row….full speed ahead…the next ship will be scuttled...




Back in the safe Haven, we ended our boats trip safe and sound.

That was a strenuous but successful and happy experience.
